Today we Remember Eve... 03/05/2010
A message from the head host: Hey everyone. Most of you know that today marks the two year anniversary of Eve Carson’s passing. Eve was a senior and the student body president at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill at the time she passed. She was a bright individual with so much promise, and she was also a friend of Anoop. Through his statements about her, Anoop has let his fans know how truly special Eve was. Her legacy inspired him to strive for the most in life. In turn, it caused him to audition for American Idol (you all know the rest). Hours ago Anoop tweeted: “This life is full of beautiful potential for every one of us. Thank you for leaving that legacy, Eve Carson. I miss you.” I will be honest with you all. As soon as I finished reading it, I began to cry uncontrollably for several minutes, and I am still unsure why. All I really know is that his statement hit me straight in the heart and the emotion overflowed and spilled out of my eyes. For me, it also affirmed the decision I made back in the early days of this podcast to dedicate the show in her memory. For those of you who do not know, Anoopcast was dedicated in Eve’s memory since the very first episode. Each and every episode, the dedication continues to be mentioned at the beginning of the closing notes. The purpose is to keep her on our minds. It is to make sure that she is not forgotten. So we remember her today. We remember her for all the good moments she experienced. Even for those of us who did not know her, we still remember her through the tales and comments of others who did. So we honor her today and will continue to do so every day. A few suggestions: - Don’t forget to wear your wristband all day. I know most of you still wear it every day, but take more care to put it on today. - Add the twibbon supporting the scholarship set up in her name to your profile picture on twitter. He needs the support especially on a day like today, so let’s try to keep his spirits up as much as we can. Anoop, you have done so much, and all of your dedication and hard work is paying off. I know that Eve must be so proud of you and happy for you. Just like I am so proud to be one of your fans. I love you beyond believe and will continue to support you in whatever you pursue.
