More About Anoop:

A North Carolina native, Anoop Desai auditioned for the popular singing competition American Idol in the summer of 2008. Auditioning for season eight, Anoop made it past the judges and landed a ticket to Hollywood. He endured multiple rounds and was eventually chosen to be one of the top 36 contestants that would perform for the American public in the voting rounds.
Anoop performed "Angel of Mine" in the first round of the semi finals. Unfortunately, he did not make it to the finals when it came down to him and Michael Sarver. Two weeks later, he was one of the few chosen to have a second chance performing in front of the four judges in the Wild Card round. Anoop thought his Idol journey was over when Simon announced that he would be the first ever 13th finalist.
Anoop had various performances during his run in the final rounds both to good and bad reviews, including "Always on My Mind" and "True Colors.
For multiple weeks, he found himself in the bottom three and in danger of elimination. After the save was used the week before on Matt Giraud, Anoop left the idol stage in a double elimination, finishing in sixth place.

Because he made it to the top ten, Anoop was part of the Idols Live tour in the summer of 2009. His set list included "Always on My Mind," "Mad," and "My Prerogative." He also had a solo in the end of the first act group performance for the song "Beggin." The tour extended over two and a half months, fifty cities, and fifty-two dates.

After the American Idol tour, Anoop continued on to do his own solo performances. He did an entire set for the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh, NC on October 22, 2009. Not long later, he did another performance at UNC's homecoming on November 8th. Later on he also performed a couple of holiday songs at the Macy's Tree Lighting ceremony in San Francisco, CA on November 27, 2009.

Anoop has been a busy bee lately, working on his first EP titled All is Fair. On this 8 track EP are songs themed around his prior experiences with love and relationships. For All is Fair, due to be released May 4, 2010, he collaborated with people such as Josh Hoge, David Mikush, and Brandon Rogers. His first single "My Name" is set to be released on March 23, 2010, and Anoop previewed it back on February 17 at the Malan Breton fashion show during Fashion Week.

He is planning on doing a radio promotional tour sometime in March. There are plans for a fuller tour over the summer, going to both national and international cities.
